Silicon Valley Eye Physicians is a fully integrated eye clinic staffed with ophthalmologists, optometrists, vision therapists and a caring, professional staff. We have been providing Sunnyvale and surrounding areas with quality eye care since 1952.
We are able to schedule procedures and appointments on Sundays to patients with busy schedules. Additionally, we provide eye care solutions through our Telehealth for EyeCare App as well. This allows us to easily do follow up exams and diagnose conditions in the comfort of your home.

Dr. Mark attended Stanford University and completed degrees in biology and music. He received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his internship at Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Following his ophthalmology training at Stanford University, he joined the teaching faculty at Stanford. He completed a two-year fellowship in corneal disease and surgery at Harvard.
He also worked as a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Eye Research Institute in Boston. His special interest areas are corneal diseases, laser vision correction, and cataract surgery. Dr. Mark is married and has two daughters and a son. His interests outside of being an eye doctor include music, tennis, and softball.
Areas of Interest and Extensive Training: Orthokeratology, Keratoconus Dr. Mendelson, a board certified optometrist, received his doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley. He was trained at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital, Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center and at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Stanford.
Dr. Mendelson has been a clinical investigator for FDA contact lens studies. He is currently an Adjunct Professor for the New England College of Optometry, and has taught students from various colleges throughout his career. Dr. Mendelson is a leading optometrist in the field of Orthokeratology/CRT overseeing one of the busiest Orthokeratology/CRT practices in the nation. He has devoted his practice to this field. Over the last 30 years
Dr. Mendelson has fit thousands of patients with Orthokeratology/CRT contacts and achieved the designation of F.I.A.O., Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology. Dr. Mendelson is one of only a few doctors to obtain this title.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the California Optometric Association. Dr. Mendelson is passionate about his care and works with local schools to provide eye care to underprivileged children.

Areas of Interest and Extensive Training: Binocular Vision Disorders
A California native, Dr. Jesley Johnson grew up in San Jose and attended St. Francis High School. She graduated from the University of California San Diego in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. During her time at UCSD, Dr. Johnson volunteered at the Optometric Vision Development Center where she developed an interest in vision therapy.
Dr. Johnson received her doctorate from the State University of New York, College of Optometry in 2011. From her rotations at the SUNY College of Optometry and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, she has become well-trained in treatment and management of ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts.
She gained experience providing optometric vision care at the University Eye Clinic in Manhattan, New York with an emphasis in the sub-specialty clinics of pediatrics and vision therapy. She elected to take a vision therapy externship which further engaged her passion in the area, specifically in regards to the pediatric population. Dr. Johnson is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and continues to attend lectures and seminars to further her knowledge in vision therapy.
Dr. Johnson is certified in corneal refractive therapy and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology. Having witnessed firsthand the benefits of CRT, Jesley is proud to be part of a team known for excellence in this field. Dr. Johnson is also a member of the InfantSee program, County Optometric Society, and California Optometric Association.
Aside from Optometry, Dr. Johnson is an active member of her Indian community. She also enjoys watching sports, specifically football and basketball. She is excited to be back in the Bay Area and looks forward to serving your family’s eye care needs.
Dr. Jackson Lau obtained his Doctor of Optometry and Bachelors degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He then completed a residency in Cornea and Contact lenses at the Illinois Eye Institute. There, he served as clinical faculty, conducted research on dry eyes and scleral contact lenses, and lectured on topics of corneal disease, myopia control and specialty contact lenses. He has extensive experience working with world-renowned corneal specialists at the Illinois Eye Institute and the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Lau has earned distinction as a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS), having treated hundreds of patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, and severe dry eyes using scleral contact lenses. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. Dr. Lau is particularly interested in utilizing advanced computer-generated designs for fully-customized gas permeable lenses (including sclerals and orthokeratology/CRT lenses).
Dr. Lau directs the clinical externship program at Silicon Valley Eye Physicians, serving as adjunct faculty for the New England College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In addition, Dr. Lau performs research as a sub-investigator for multiple ongoing contact lens and ophthalmic drug trials.
Outside of practice, Dr. Lau enjoys backpacking, basketball, and cooking.
Dr. Wu is a local man who grew up in Cupertino and attended Monta Vista High School. He graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychobiology. He then obtained his doctorate degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Wu looks forward to providing full scope optometric services to his community and enhancing the lives of each and every one of his patients.
He completed extensive training on management of ocular diseases, dry eye disease, specialty contact lens fittings and myopia control management through rotations in hospitals around Northern California. These include UC Davis Medical Center, Meredith Morgan Eye Center in Berkeley, VA Monterey, VA Pacific Islands, Honolulu, Marin Community Clinic Novato, and UC Santa Cruz Student Health Center.
Outside of the office, Dr. Wu has also volunteered in many underprivileged communities to provide eye care such as Nicaragua and Mexico. In his spare time Dr. Wu enjoys watching the Warriors, surfing and golfing. Dr Wu is also fluent in Mandarin!
In April 2022, Dr Wu attained a Fellowship in the International American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, and shared the following:
"It is an honor and privilege to join this group of distinguished doctors who all practice myopia control at the highest level. As a fellow, my goal is to provide excellent care for our patients and to guide the next generation of optometrists who undergo extensive training at our clinic. There is still a lot of new and exciting research conducted in this field, which will give us more options and better outcomes to improve our patient's quality of life."
Dr. Tseng received her Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry, Boston and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for her academic performance. She then completed the competitive Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at University of California, Berkeley where she received intensive clinical and academic training in managing anterior segment diseases through specialty contact lenses, myopia control, and dry eye.
Dr. Tseng worked in the esteemed UC Berkeley Myopia Control Clinic during her residency and gained comprehensive experience and knowledge in different modalities of myopia control. In addition to myopia control, Dr. Tseng treated hundreds of patients with corneal diseases and dry eyes with specialty contact lenses. Dr. Tseng has extensive knowledge fitting specialty contact lenses including custom soft contact lens, gas permeable contact lenses, hybrid contact lenses and scleral lenses for presbyopia, high refractive error, keratoconus, corneal ectasia/irregularity/diseases, post-surgical cornea, dry eye etc. She is also highly engaged in academic activities, she lectured to optometric colleagues, precepted student clinicians, attended various major optometric and contact lens conferences, and published posters/articles on myopia control, specialty contact lenses and ocular disease.
Dr. Tseng earned the distinction as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) after rigorous candidacy process.
Dr. Tseng speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, photography, cultural events, food, and spending time with friends and family. Fun fact: she finished a 560 mile bike tour around Taiwan in 9 days.
